Need help setting up a home theater system?

I have a DVD player that only has analog audio outputs and 1 digital output. However I just got a receiver/subwoofer and speaker system as a gift and it does not have a digital input port. It has six ports (one for each speaker (5) and one for subwoofer). How can I connect from digital out (DVD) to 6 Analog In (receiver)??

if your dvd player has discrete channel analog outputs (that is, analog outputs for each fl, center, fr, sr, sl and sub), you may be able to put those to the multi-channel input of your reciever. i just have never seen a dvd player with that kind of connections, but i did use such a setup for my computer which had a 6-channel sound card and internal digital audio processing.

unfourtanetly you cannot... to get true dolby sound out of it it would have to be hooked in to a digital coax or a fiber optic.. your reciever does not have a decoder build into it so youd need a dvd player that decodes and outputs the correct analog channels for you to recieve the correct sounds..

When did the first drive-in theater open?

The drive-in theater was the creation of Camden, New Jersey, chemical company magnate Richard M. Hollingshead, Jr., whose family owned and operated the R.M. Hollingshead Corporation chemical plant in Camden. In 1932, Hollingshead conducted outdoor theater tests in his driveway at 212 Thomas Avenue in Camden. After nailing a screen to trees in his backyard, he set a 1928 Kodak projector on the hood of his car and put a radio behind the screen, testing different sound levels with his car windows down and up. Blocks under vehicles in the driveway enabled him to determine the size and spacing of ramps so all automobiles could have a clear view of the screen. Following these experiments, he applied August 6, 1932 for a patent of his invention, and he was given patent number 1,909,537 on May 16, 1933. (Seventeen years later, that patent was declared invalid by the Delaware District Court.)

Hollingshead's drive-in opened in New Jersey June 6, 1933 on Admiral Wilson Boulevard at the Airport Circle in Pennsauken, a short distance from Cooper River Park. It only operated for three years, but during that time the concept caught on in other states. The April 15. 1934, opening of Shankweiler's Auto Park in Orefield, Pennsylvania, was followed by Galveston's Drive-In Short Reel Theater (July 5, 1934), the Pico in Los Angeles (September 9, 1934) and the Weymouth Drive-In Theatre in Weymouth, Massachusetts (May 6, 1936). In 1937, three more opened in Ohio, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, with another twelve during 1938 and 1939 in California, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Texas and Virginia.

After three weeks and $30,000 the first Drive-In Theater opens on Tuesday June 6, 1933. On Crescent Boulevard, Camden New Jersey. If you are sitting in a theater, What are you eating and drinking?

Half a bucket of popcorn before the movie starts, goobers, and a pepsi that i smuggled in. And anything else i have to snack on in my purse!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spree's and H2O!
I so rarely go to the theater anymore. That's so 90's and before. DVD's fo' life!!!

Funny, how folks complain about the price of snacks (high!) what about the movie? You young kids are getting ripped off big time. DVD comes out in 3 to 6 months! Rent it, dawg!
Large popcorn and coke light.
Buttered popcorn, provided it is freshly popped and REAL butter, and a Dr. Pepper
I like the pretzel bits with cheese, popcorn, and/or cherry coke!
a huge tub of popcorn (that no, sorry, you can't have any) and a diet coke... yes, seemingly a contradiction isn't it?

but i love my popcorn.
chocolate treats and pop
A 20 oz soda i smuggled in and maybe some popcorn
nothing, I won't pay 15 bucks for a soda and popcorn
I love snow caps and chocolate covered peanuts. At the cinema in my town, I get a cherry slushie.
I eat and drink nothing in theaters usually. If I go to a movie near mealtime, I visit a nearby restaurant before the movie. I live in SF where some "repertory theaters" allow one to bring in food and drinks. Some of my pals bring beer and sandwiches, but they soon spend more time in the restroom than watching the movie. I wait until after a movie to drink beer.
The typical popcorn and coke. Sometimes though I eat those chocolate covered raisins. Those are sooo good!
I don't usually pay for it toooo expensive, but if i did i'd have sweet popcorn and minstrels (mixed), and coke
sour patch kids ( sooooooooooooo gooooooooddddddddd!!!) and a coke ice
I usually wait for the DVD, but when I do go to the movies.....popcorn, goobers %26amp; junior mints :)

Is my JVC RX- F10S home theater receiver repairable after accidentally plugging it to 220V instead o

No you can repare it just send it to me i will trash it for you.

no just kidding. the problem is mot as big as you may think there are two possibilities, you either need to change a fuse that is used as a security to protect the mother board if you wonna call as that.

Or you may have to change the transformator, also known as power converteer. In bothe cases it shouldn't cost you a lot of mony.

should be you probly just broke the fuse before the power convertor. its desigended to do just that when too much current is applyed.

Ever been to a drive in theater? Where and what did you see?

We're one of the lucky communities to still have a drive-in theater here at the edge of Lewisburg, Tennessee. We go often and it's good, clean family fun. There's a large grassy area between the parking lot and the screen and all the children run and play and fall asleep on blankets when they get sleepy.

Not in years and years. My parents watched "Doctor Zivago" while we kids camped out on top of the station wagon.

Good times.
